Well, it doesn’t matter what reasons you have. You accidentally delete the images from your PC and want to save or recover from a word document. You received or download the document file and want to save images from that file. There are many situations when you may need to extract images from a word, doc, or Docx file. Also, Google Docs only allows us to copy images to other apps. Well, this will be a lengthy process for most people if the document has multiple images. But, word 2007 even doesn’t offer this option. However, Microsoft word offers to save pictures one by one from the document, just right click on the image from doc file and select “Save as picture” option. Because there is no such option is available in Microsoft Word and Google Docs. Saving all images from doc files is not a straight forward process. (Everything is placed in the page header, since according to my tester, this might be a factor.Finding how to extract images from word or docx / doc files? Then you’re on the right page. Here's a link to the sample document I'm working with, the top picture prints correctly, the bottom picture prints with a darker background color (on some printers, unfortunately not any of mine.) If someone can figure that out, I'm convinced the problem is solved. So far I have not been able to recreate the latter via VBA or VB.NET (via an VSTO AddIn). The right picture ends up as a v:shape with a lot less markup: It can happen on both color and B/W printers, both new ( And only in somewhat rare configurations. (I have not found out the exact situation required to replicate the problem, but it seems to require a certain combination of printer drivers being either PCL or PS.)Īnd just to make it harder to debug this issue, it is not visible when printing to a PDF printer, it only seems occurs on paper. If the inserted image has transparency (like many logos do) it will end up with a dark background instead of being completely transparent, when printed, in some cases. I can replicate this by inserting a large colored rectangle in the document header, and placing the image in the document body, so it ends up on top of the colored rectangle. The reason I need to replicate the drag & drop method, is that the pictures react differently when printed in some cases. Normally I do it like this: (imagePath, LinkToFile:=False, SaveWithDocument:=True)īut this replicates the 'Insert Picture' buttons behaviour. The problem is that I need it inserted so it ends up the same way as if a user had used 'Drag & Drop' to insert the image, instead of the 'Insert Picture' toolbar button. I need to be able to insert an image in a Word document via my.
